We are seeking an experienced consultant to join our Sustainability Consulting Team to develop and manage Strategic ESG Programs for our commercial real estate clients. As a consultant, you will make positive impact on some of the most iconic buildings and work with some of the most forward-thinking companies in the world. Ideal candidates are responsive and sympathetic to the needs of clients and have a strong background in ESG and knowledge of sustainable design and high-performance building.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, real estate, public policy, environmental science, engineering, energy, or related fields.
  • 5-8 years’ experience working in the ESG consulting field, with a focus on the built environment and commercial real estate. Preference for experience with diversified property types
  • Experience working with the leading ESG frameworks and ratings including GRESB, SASB, TCFD, UN SDG’s, CDP, GRI, MCSI, etc.
  • Experience contributing to Corporate CSR/ESG Reports.
  • Understanding of common ESG metrics, data collection methods, and tools.
  • Interest and experience in common and best practices covering environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and governance of environmental and social topics.
  • Strong research, writing, analytical, communications, organizational; project management and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of green building rating systems, including LEED (BD+C, ID+C, O+M), Fitwel, WELL, and Living Building Challenge preferred.
  • General knowledge of GHG protocol and carbon accounting.
  • Highly proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
  • An innate attention to detail.
  • A team player that gets the job done and sees no task as too small.
  • Thrives on building and managing relationships with clients as well as team members.
  • A passion for sustainability and climate action.
  • Strong organizational skills and program management skills – possesses the ability to successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
  • Manage all aspects of ESG client engagements, including setting client goals, establishing project schedules, leading meetings, issuing regular project updates, and guiding the creation of deliverables with minimal guidance. May be responsible for multiple client engagements in various stages.
  • Create and implement bespoke ESG programs which may include materiality and/or needs assessments, goal setting, ESG roadmap development, data benchmarking, resilience and climate change analysis, health and well-being strategies, stakeholder engagement, ESG reporting, and other ESG topics identified by client.
  • Analyze sector, regional and economic factors that could impact a client's ESG strategy.
  • Understand nuances in ESG strategy by property type including key challenges to implementation for certain property types.
  • Conduct ESG research and analysis of current and pending regulations and industry trends/requirements.
  • Assist in the creation of internal and external communications for clients related to ESG programs and successes.
  • Manage the submission process to leading ESG frameworks and rating systems.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration within client organizations to ensure buy-in
  • Facilitate and manage cross-functional collaboration within the Firm to ensure proper subject matter experts support ESG scopes and are budgeted into projects as necessary.
  • Act as an adviser on several ESG accounts managed by less senior team members to provide additional guidance and industry insight.
  • Establish and maintain effective client relationships.
  • Set and manage project expectations.
  • Effectively deliver project scopes within budget allocated.
  • Contribute to the build out of the Firms ESG consulting service line including creating tools, case studies, best practices, and mentoring other team members.
  • Support ESG Director with business development including sales calls and proposal development.
  • Attend seminars, workshops, and conferences to remain informed on industry trends.
