Job Details

Title: Senior Electrical Estimator (Design-Build Projects)
Location: Denver, CO – In-office with flexibility for one remote day/week after ramp-up
Compensation: $100K–$150K base + performance bonus (1–10% avg. - pays out every year) + mileage reimbursement

A growing electrical contractor is building out their preconstruction team and hiring a second Senior Estimator. This role is open because their CEO (who came up in estimating) is still owning too much of this work—and it’s time to get them back to running the business. You’ll partner with another Sr. Estimator and be part of a five-person team that includes junior and mid-level talent.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Leading estimating for higher-value, design-build, and technically complex electrical projects
  • Collaborating closely with clients and internal design teams—this is a client-facing role
  • Creating detailed takeoffs, proposals, and budgets using tools like Accubid and LiveCount
  • Working hands-on across bid strategy, pricing, scope clarification, and vendor coordination
  • Acting as a mentor to early-career estimators and partnering with PMs to build initial budgets

What they’re looking for:
  • 5–7+ years of experience in commercial electrical estimating
  • Experience with design-build, conceptual budgeting, and complex preconstruction efforts
  • Electrical field background preferred
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to operate both independently and collaboratively
  • Professional communication skills—you’ll be in front of clients and vendors regularly

Why this team:
The culture is tight-knit, collaborative, and full of opportunity. The company is on a healthy growth path—not explosive growth, but intentional and steady. This role has a clear line of sight into future leadership (think: Chief Estimator or Preconstruction Manager). PTO is generous (4 weeks), the team is full-time in-office with flexibility once you’re settled, and leadership is deeply invested in getting this hire right.
