About the Role
We are seeking a Government Accounting & Compliance Specialist to support complex defense and aerospace programs. The role focuses on FAR/DFARS/CAS compliance, cost and price analysis, rate development, and audit support. You will collaborate with finance leadership and program teams to maintain compliance, improve processes, and support financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain rate models; prepare and submit provisional billing rates and incurred cost submissions.
Ensure compliance with CAS, FAR, and government cost principles; maintain relevant disclosure statements.
Support audits and cost/price analyses conducted by government agencies.
Lead or participate in SAP system enhancements, reporting, and custom financial solutions.
Prepare briefings for program finance teams, executives, and cross-functional groups on accounting and rate analysis topics.
Train and mentor staff on government accounting, cost/pricing, and rate development.
Lead special projects to improve processes and reduce operational costs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA a plus.
5–7 years of experience in government accounting, cost accounting, rate development, or audits (DCAA, DCMA, or prime contractor/subcontractor).
Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and government contracting cost principles.
Aerospace & Defense industry experience preferred.
ERP experience, preferably SAP in an EMD or production environment.
Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, formulas).
Strong communicator, self-starter, and team leader.
Work Environment
Medium-to-large office setting.
Fast-paced, collaborative, and compliance-driven.
Moderate noise levels typical of professional offices.
