Job Details
We’re partnering with a growing construction firm with deep union ties and a legacy of doing the right thing in the field. They’ve earned their reputation the old-fashioned way: by putting people first, delivering quality work, and staying fiercely committed to jobsite safety.
Today, they’re doubling down on that commitment by evolving their safety program. The next chapter requires more structure, formalization, and vision.
Our goal: Zero injuries, year after year. Currently, we have over 1.5 million employee hours worked with no lost time injuries.
That’s where you come in.
This isn’t a role for someone looking to tweak policy from a desk. This is for someone who understands how the field works and can bring strategic thinking to safety programming—rolling out scalable processes, collaborating across teams, and implementing new ideas that make safety real and relevant to everyone from the front office to the field.
What You’ll Do:
Who You Are:
Why This Role?
You’ll report directly to the VP of Operations, working alongside a respected leadership team that actually supports and invests in safety. You’re not fighting for a seat at the table—it’s already set for you. What they need now is someone who can bring structure without killing momentum, and elevate a strong culture without losing the soul of it.
This is a chance to take a respected safety foundation and turn it into something scalable, modern, and deeply rooted in care for their people.

What You’ll Do:
- Lead the end-to-end safety strategy across multiple job sites
- Conduct regular site visits alongside the current safety veteran to stay grounded in day-to-day risks
- Build on existing processes, incorporating modern systems, training, and tech tools
- Partner closely with Operations, HR, and field leadership to drive engagement and alignment
- Own compliance, reporting, and documentation—but without letting the paperwork water down the mission
- Roll out programs that go beyond compliance—like near-miss incentives and proactive prevention
Who You Are:
- You’ve got a strong background in heavy civil safety and a respect for field culture
- You’ve seen what a mature safety program can look like—and you're ready to build toward it
- You’re collaborative but decisive. You don’t need a playbook; you build the playbook
- You bring tech fluency—comfortable rolling out reporting systems, tracking incidents, and integrating software tools
- You can navigate tough conversations, coach teams, and help folks connect safety to their day-to-day
- Bonus if you speak Spanish, but it’s not a deal breaker
