Staff Accountant
Compensation:
$60,000 - $65,000 + Comprehensive Benefits Package
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This position offers hands-on exposure to multiple areas of accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, account reconciliations, invoicing, vendor management, and AIA billing.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience supporting day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts receivable functions including posting payments, monitoring aging reports, and following up on outstanding balances.
Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing.
Prepare and submit AIA billing and construction-related billing documents.
Support invoicing activities, credits, order corrections, and customer account maintenance.
Perform collections activities and maintain documentation of customer communications.
Complete account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Maintain vendor records and assist with vendor database management.
Apply service and sales payments accurately and timely.
Assist with month-end accounting activities and special projects.
Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend efficiencies.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
Associate degree plus relevant accounting experience considered
Experience with:
Accounts Receivable
Accounts Payable
Collections
Account Reconciliations
Invoicing & Billing
ERP/Accounting Systems
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred
AIA Billing experience
Construction, contracting, homebuilding, distribution, or building materials industry experience
Experience with ERP systems such as HomeSource, Sage, NetSuite, Dynamics, Acumatica, or similar platforms
