We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. This role is specifically designed for individuals with a knack for numbers, a passion for financial analysis, and a deep understanding of commercial real estate accounting. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating the financial affairs of our property management arm, ensuring compliance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and providing accurate and timely financial information to management.

Job Details



Responsibilities:

1. Handle a variety of general accounting functions such as A/R, A/P, bank reconciliations, and fixed assets.
2. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
3. Use one-site property management software for data entry, reporting, and financial analysis.
4. Prepare month-end close procedures, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
5. Assist with tax preparation and filing, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
6. Collaborate with other team members to improve financial procedures, processes, and overall efficiency.
7. Provide financial information and reports to management to aid strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA certification is a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Solid experience with commercial real estate accounting and tax preparation.
4. Proficiency in GAAP and financial reporting, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Experience with one-site property management software and other relevant accounting software.
6. Strong understanding of bank reconciliations, fixed assets, and income statements.
7. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data and create financial reports.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial colleagues.
9. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
