Our client is a Boston based boutique real estate and development firm with a deep understanding of developing, owning, managing, and leasing high quality real estate. Due to growth, they are looking to add a Portfolio Accountant to the team that will work closely with the CFO and wear many hats. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing their loan portfolio and ensuring accurate accounting of all transactions. This position requires a driven individual with a strong understanding of portfolio accounting, loan fund accounting, loan receivables, cash receipts, and GL accounting.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that are crucial to the financial stability and growth of our company. These include:
1. Managing and maintaining the company's loan portfolio, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
2. Overseeing loan fund accounting and ensuring all loans are properly accounted for.
3. Handling loan receivables, ensuring all payments are received and accurately recorded.
4. Managing cash receipts and ensuring all cash transactions are accurately accounted for.
5. Performing GL accounting duties, maintaining the general ledger and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
6. Acting as a mortgage officer, overseeing the company's mortgage transactions and ensuring they are carried out correctly.
7. Using QuickBooks to manage and maintain the company's financial records.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of portfolio accounting, loan fund accounting, loan receivables, cash receipts, and GL accounting.
3. Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
4. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and make accurate forecasts.
5. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex financial information to non-financial staff.
7. High level of integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.
8. Self-motivated and able to work independently, but also able to work effectively as part of a team.
