We are on the hunt for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Staff Accountant to join our thriving healthcare organization client! This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a solid background in accounting to contribute to the financial health and success of their organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a broad range of accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial reporting, account reconciliation, financial accounting, accounts payable, financial statements, bookkeeping, and accounts receivable.

Responsibilities

1. Managing and maintaining the general ledger system, ensuring accuracy and validity of all entries.
2. Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring they comply with financial policies and standards.
3. Performing account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
4. Overseeing financial accounting procedures, including bank reconciliations, tax, debt, and fixed asset activities.
5. Handling accounts payable and receivable activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
6. Preparing and analyzing detailed financial statements, providing clear insights into business performance.
7. Conducting bookkeeping duties such as recording, updating, and verifying financial data.
8. Assisting in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
9. Collaborating with the finance team to implement financial best practices and process improvements.
10. Ensuring compliance with all internal processes, financial regulations, and industry guidelines.
11. Process biweekly or monthly payroll, including reviewing timesheets, calculating earnings, deductions, and resolving discrepancies
12. Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
4. Solid understanding of financial reporting and account reconciliation.
5. Excellent knowledge of financial accounting, accounts payable, financial statements, bookkeeping, and accounts receivable.
6. Strong familiarity with accounting software and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
7. Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
