Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Implement and maintain adherence to financial and accounting principles (GAAP) to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reports.
2. Execute month-end close procedures, including the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
3. Manage inventory accounting processes, including monitoring of inventory levels, cost analysis, and reconciliation of inventory accounts.
4. Oversee accounts payable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining vendor relationships.
5. Utilize Great Plains software for various accounting tasks, including data entry, report generation, and financial analysis.
6. Prepare and present financial analysis reports to management, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
7. Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and ensure financial integrity across the organization.
8. Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
9. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and conduct variance analysis to identify trends and potential risks.
10. Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.

Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the engineering industry.
3. Proficient knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Experience with month-end close procedures, inventory accounting, and accounts payable.
5. Proficiency in Great Plains software or a similar accounting system.
6. Excellent analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
7. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively.
9. High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
10. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
