We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Staff Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented professional to contribute to a vital part of our company's financial operations. The ideal candidate will be an individual who is not only comfortable with numbers but also has a strong understanding of the operational side of the business. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, managing our company's general ledger, and preparing monthly reports.

Responsibilities:

As a Staff Accountant, your core responsibilities will include:

1. Managing the month-end close process efficiently and ensuring all deadlines are met.
2. Posting monthly journal entries to keep track of all business transactions.
3. Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger by verifying and reconciling transactions.
4. Managing and maintaining fixed assets, including depreciation schedules.
5. Preparing a detailed monthly inventory report for management review.
6. Handling accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
7. Performing monthly bank reconciliations to confirm the company's financial status.
8. Preparing financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
9. Utilizing QuickBooks Online for all accounting activities and ensuring data accuracy.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Staff Accountant position should have:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proven experience with month-end close, maintaining general ledger, managing fixed assets, and preparing monthly reports.
4. Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
5. Strong experience in preparing financial statements.
6. Proficient with QuickBooks Online and other accounting software.
7. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
