Job Details
The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly general ledger closing process. This includes preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling assigned general ledger accounts to ensure balances are correct, and promptly researching and resolving any discrepancies. Additional responsibilities encompass fixed assets accounting, processing remote deposits, managing the departmental Accounting mailbox, and performing various tasks to support the Accounting Team's overall objectives.

- Demonstrate a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks.
- Prepare accurate and timely month-end accruals and allocations.
- Conduct timely balance sheet account reconciliations and adjustments.
- Maintain the fixed assets subledger, ensuring assets are correctly set up, capitalized, depreciated, and disposed of in line with company policies.
- Ensure timely deposit of receipts.
- Maintain and document business processes and accounting procedures.
- Utilize systems to streamline processes and reporting.
- Collaborate within the team and cross-functionally to support the team's goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting or a related field.
- One to two years of accounting experience, preferably with a background in public accounting or healthcare.
- Proficiency in general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
