Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services
- Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
- Prepare batches of invoices for data entry
- Send wires
- Data enter invoices for payment
- Manage the collection of appraisals to ensure vendors are being paid on time and the company is getting reimbursed for those appraisals
- Pay the daily Mortgage Insurance
- Deposit checks
- Record all checks in accounting system
- Prepare vendor check for mailing
- Prepare manual check as and when required
- Maintain listing of accounts payable accounts
- Maintain the general ledger related to payables and expenses
- Maintain updated vendor files and accounts
- Print and distribute monthly financial reports as related to payables
Other Duties:
- Effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced working environment
- Communicates in a positive and professional manner at all times
- Exercise independent judgment and ability to work independently
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
- Report any potential or actual violations of such policies, practices or procedures to Compliance Manager
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Participate by example through sharing of knowledge and skill to promote a positive team work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in accounting field are preferred.
- Having worked in the Home Loan industry is a plus but not required
- Combination of equivalent education or experience is acceptable.
- Collection skills and experience are preferred
- Being very organized is key in this job
- Mathematical skills required to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and perform the basic functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Computer skills required including basic personal computing, electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics etcetera.
- Must have a pretty good understanding of Excel as most work is done using Excel
- Knowledge of accounting software preferred.
