Staff Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team in Chicago, IL as a staff accountant. As a member of the accounting team, the staff accountant contributes directly to the company’s success by ensuring that financial information is recorded timely and accurately to allow management to assess the company’s success.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for the company
• Perform month-end close processes and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
• Record and reconcile transactions in the general ledger
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Process accounts payable and ensure timely payments to vendors
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Maintain accurate records of insurance policies and premiums
• Assist with audits and tax filings
• Provide support to other members of the finance team as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of experience in a similar role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
