Job Details

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Temp/Perm - Staff Accountant will be responsible for daily, weekly and monthly accounting tasks. This position will be responsible for adhering to all accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including heavy data entry.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform bank account reconciliation
  • Prepare and review balance sheet supporting schedules
  • Preparing financial statements and variance analysis
  • Assist in annual budget process
  • Maintaining schedules such as prepaid, accruals and fixed assets
  • Assisting with A/P, A/R as needed
  • Month end closings
  • GL maintenance and journal entries
  • Property level entries and reporting, monitoring fixed assets, allocations, GL accounts and cash reconciliations

EXPERIENCE
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience.
  • Multi-site/Multi-company or multi-state corporate accounting/finance experience
  • Healthcare industry or rental property experience preferred
  • CPA designation a plus, but not required


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance or Business Management with an emphasis in Accounting required
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP, Federal and State laws and regulations a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft software and Peachtree
  • Excellent computer skills to include Word, Outlook and advanced Excel; accounting software experience
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and follow up skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written

  • The ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals at all levels within the organization
  • A customer service attitude with the ability to train and mentor others within the organization
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what is necessary to ensure the finance department runs smoothly; assisting in areas outside your scope of responsibility when necessary
