Staff Accountant

We are a Steel Manufacturer based in Michigan. We are a a world-class provider of superior heat and corrosion-resistant products for international and domestic markets. We are currently looking to add a Staff Accountant to our Accounting team in our Grand Rapids office.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. As a Permanent Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual with a passion for accounting and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software
• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasting
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Prepare and file tax returns and other regulatory filings
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives
• Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in accounting or related field
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred
