We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Staff Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate professional to contribute their skills to a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, and general ledger. Our staff accountant will also be instrumental in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. If you have a strong background in financial accounting and are proficient in Microsoft Excel and SAGE, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
As a Staff Accountant, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Oversee and manage the general ledger.
2. Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports or as needed.
3. Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
4. Perform analysis and reporting regarding financial operations and information.
5. Perform month-end closing process, journal entries, account reconciliations, and profit and loss statements.
6. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
7. Participate in the ongoing development and implementation of financial systems and processes.
8. Conduct regular ledger maintenance.
9. Assist with the preparation of tax returns and audits.
10. Utilize Microsoft Excel and SAGE for various financial tasks and reporting.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Strong understanding and knowledge of accounting principles and practices, specifically in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and general ledger.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAGE is essential.
5. Solid understanding of financial analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting.
6. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
