We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our vibrant team in the construction industry. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with a strong accounting background, keen analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing and analyzing financial statements, maintaining and managing inventory accounting, and conducting month and year-end close procedures.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
2. Manage and maintain accurate inventory accounting records and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy.
3. Monitor and analyze labor trends within the construction industry to provide accurate forecasting and budgeting.
4. Prepare and record complex Journal Entries for income and expenses, including depreciation, prepaid expenses, payroll, and others.
5. Conduct month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data has been recorded and reconciled.
6. Prepare, analyze, and maintain aging reports to track and manage company receivables and payables.
7. Use Sage Intacct accounting software for financial management and operations.
8. Ensure compliance with state and local sales and use tax laws and regulations.
9. Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, improve financial reporting and assist in setting and achieving company financial goals.
10. Participate in special projects, preparing detailed financial analysis and providing recommendations.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in Sage Intacct accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
4. Experience in preparing and analyzing financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
5. Solid understanding of inventory accounting and experience in managing and maintaining inventory records.
6. Familiarity with preparing and maintaining aging reports.
7. Knowledge of sales and use tax laws and regulations.
8. Ability to manage month-end and year-end close procedures.
9. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
11. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
