We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Permanent Staff Tax & Partnership Accountant to join our dynamic legal team. This role will be instrumental in handling tax-related matters for our firm and our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting, corporate tax returns, state and local tax, federal & state tax, tax preparation, audit and tax, sales tax, and tax returns. This position requires a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review accurate tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
- Conduct complex tax research and planning to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax laws.
- Handle federal, state, and local tax filings, ensuring timely submission and payment.
- Manage audits by tax authorities, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge of changing tax laws and regulations.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide tax advice and planning in accordance with business objectives.
- Develop and implement effective tax strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce potential tax risks.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or Master's degree in Taxation is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on partnership taxation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- High degree of professionalism and integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
