Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Steel Trade Manager to lead and oversee steel fabrication, installation, and structural operations within our construction and manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel structures, welding, fabrication, and team leadership, ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and efficiency standards. This role requires close coordination with engineering, project management, and field teams to deliver high-quality steelwork on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage steel trade teams, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality control.

Oversee structural steel fabrication, welding, and installation for construction and manufacturing projects.

Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications to guide steelwork execution.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and building codes related to steel structures.

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to optimize workflows and project timelines.

Manage procurement and inventory of steel materials, tools, and equipment.

Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and safety awareness of the steel team.

Monitor project budgets and schedules, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Troubleshoot and resolve structural steel challenges, ensuring all work meets engineering and quality standards.

Qualifications & Skills:
Extensive experience in steel trade management, preferably in construction or modular manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, welding techniques, and installation practices.

Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor a team of steelworkers, welders, and fabricators.

Experience working with blueprints, structural drawings, and project specifications.

Understanding of OSHA regulations, steel industry safety standards, and quality control procedures.

Certified Welder or Welding Inspector credentials are a plus.

Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
AWS, AISC, or CWI certification is a plus.

Experience with crane rigging, heavy steel installation, or modular steel construction.

Background in lean manufacturing or structural steel design is advantageous.
