Our client is seeking a talented and driven Structural Professional Engineer (PE) to join our team in Houston, Texas. As a Structural PE, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of residential construction projects. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of engineers, architects, and construction professionals to uphold our commitment to delivering high-quality solutions. Minimal travel will be required but will be necessary on occasion. Most travel will be within the state of Texas to major metropolitan cities and surrounding developments.
Key Responsibilities:
Structural Analysis and Design:
Conduct structural analysis and design for a wide range of residential construction projects.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
Project Management:
Manage and oversee structural engineering aspects of assigned projects, from initial concept to completion.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and timelines.
Quality Assurance:
Perform quality control reviews of structural designs and documentation to maintain accuracy and adherence to standards.
Participate in peer reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Client Collaboration:
Engage with clients to understand project requirements, address concerns, and provide technical expertise.
Cultivate and nurture strong client relationships.
Code Compliance:
Stay current with building codes, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure designs meet all compliance requirements.
Site Inspections:
Conduct on-site inspections to assess structural conditions, resolve construction challenges, and maintain quality control.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with architects, fellow engineers, and construction teams to integrate structural designs seamlessly into overall project plans.
Requirements
Education, Experience and Desired Qualifications:
Accredited Engineering Degree Required. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering. Master's degree is a plus.
Registered Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas.
4 years of experience in structural engineering and design, with expertise in structural framing with wood members.
Comprehensive knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and regulations.
Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment.
Dedication to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Previous experience in residential construction is advantageous.
Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with architects, builders, inspectors, and homeowners.
Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
Eligible to work in the United States.
