• We do overtime pay at x1.5 which increases an employee’s earning potential from there based on how many hours they work over 40. People are not expected to work a lot of overtime, but there is plenty of work to do if they want to, and they are compensated nicely when they do. So basically, they have some control in how much they make depending on whether they want to put in extra hours.
• We pay bonuses annually that are dependent upon both firm and employee performance. Our average bonus percentage payout in recent years has been more than double the industry average
• We do an annual profit-sharing distribution which is based on firm profitability and is handled through our 401k plan. We have granted it annually for 14 consecutive years.
• We grant an annual cost of living increase.

The Structural Project Engineer utilizes advanced design, engineering, and project management expertise within the structural team to accomplish project objectives.

Responsibilities:
Applies comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices within a specific practice area.
Independently assesses, selects, and modifies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Develops a general understanding of principles and practices in related fields and collaborates effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Manages multiple projects of moderate size or contributes to significant portions of larger projects.
Generates comprehensive project documentation.
Conducts design, analysis, and data interpretation tasks.
Identifies and resolves challenges effectively.

Required Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data and correspondence.
Capable of producing reports and business correspondence.
Effective communication skills in both small group and one-on-one settings.
Proficient in mathematical concepts, including probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry, as applied in structural design.
Advanced proficiency in discipline-specific software such as AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, and Enercalc.
Strong understanding of design and engineering principles.
Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions using structural engineering principles.
Skilled in interpreting a wide range of technical instructions and handling abstract and concrete variables effectively.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
Professional engineering license from the state licensing agency is necessary.
A valid Virginia driver’s license is a requirement.
