Job Details

Responsible for cabling and termination of Cat5, Cat6, CATV, Fiber and various other wiring disciplines. The position includes the testing and troubleshooting of wiring issues and assisting other operations departments with project and maintenance requests.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Knowledgeable in structured cabling and other advanced technologies;
  • Ability to read, understand and measure from floor plans;
  • Ability to estimate materials required for the various cabling projects;
  • Run all cabling within the guidelines outlined based on BICSI standards.
  • Tests and trouble shoots problems with structure cabling systems.
  • Attends plan review meetings to review structured cabling requirements for construction projects.
  • Responsible for working with Facilities Planning and Institutional Services Safety and Environmental department on all jobs.
  • Assists in the development of specifications for structured cabling systems.
  • Work with Telecom and networking for design of systems.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of assigned vehicle.
  • Responsible for the design layouts needed for permitting required by the Shelby County Code.
  • Maintains record of time and material used on a job.
  • Ability to design, integrate, and implement ICT and related infrastructure components across multiple disciplines and applications
  • Strong knowledge of Fiber and Copper cabling
  • Must hold a current BICSI RCDD Certificate
  • Strong Project Management skills a must
  • Prepares reports related to job duties

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five (5) years experience on the installation of voice, data, CCTV, and security structured cable installation.
  • RCDD certificate
