Are you a detail-oriented individual with a knack for numbers and a passion for finance? We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Student Accounts Bursar to join our team. This exceptional opportunity requires a professional who is comfortable managing multiple tasks, working in a fast-paced environment, and maintaining a student-centric approach at all times. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities:

As a Student Accounts Bursar, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Managing and maintaining student accounts, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
2. Posting payments promptly and accurately, and ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.
3. Reconciling student accounts and resolving any discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
4. Billing students for tuition, fees, room and board, and other applicable charges.
5. Collaborating with other departments to ensure accurate and timely billing and payment processes.
6. Providing excellent customer service to students and parents, responding to inquiries regarding student accounts, billing, and payments.
7. Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
8. Maintaining confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA regulations.
9. Staying current on industry best practices, trends, and regulatory changes.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Student Accounts Bursar position, you must possess the following:

1. A minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a higher education setting.
2. Strong knowledge of posting payments, billing, and account reconciliation.
3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
7. A strong understanding of FERPA regulations and the importance of maintaining student confidentiality.
8. The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. A commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
10. A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
