We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Superintendent with extensive experience in Healthcare Construction, specifically in the realm of OSHPD (Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large-scale construction projects, with a deep understanding of the unique requirements and regulations of healthcare construction. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as the opportunity to work on some of the most innovative and challenging construction projects in the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities
As a Permanent Superintendent, you will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing and managing all aspects of healthcare construction projects from inception to completion.
2. Ensuring all projects are completed in accordance with OSHPD regulations and guidelines.
3. Collaborating closely with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure project requirements are met.
4. Maintaining a safe and clean job site that complies with health and safety standards.
5. Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, stakeholders, and contractors.
6. Coordinating and directing construction workers and subcontractors.
7. Reviewing work progress on a daily basis and adjusting schedules and plans as needed.
8. Ensuring quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
9. Preparing internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
10. Analyzing, managing, and mitigating risks.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent or in a similar role in the construction industry, specifically in healthcare construction.
2. Extensive experience and knowledge of OSHPD regulations and guidelines.
3. Experience with HCAI (Healthcare Construction and Infection Control) is a plus.
4. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
5. Exceptional leadership and management skills.
6. Strong understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
7. Familiarity with construction/ project management software.
8. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
9. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
10. A degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field is preferred.
