We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Superintendent to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead and manage all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government construction and a proven track record of successfully overseeing large-scale projects from conception to completion. This role requires an individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all stages of project life cycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
2. Coordinate and supervise the work of all construction activities and teams, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with the project plans and specifications.
3. Manage and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
4. Review and approve project drawings and specifications, making necessary changes when required.
5. Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers.
7. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work, taking corrective actions as necessary.
8. Prepare and submit regular project reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders.
9. Manage project budgets, ensuring all work is carried out within the allocated financial resources.
10. Implement and manage quality control procedures to ensure all work meets or exceeds the required standards.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a superintendent role within the construction industry, specifically with government construction projects.
2. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
3. Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, safety protocols, and regulations.
4. Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and timelines, with a strong attention to detail.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
7. Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
8. Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
9. A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed.
10. Certification in construction safety or project management is a plus.
