We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Superintendent to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, with a particular focus on commercial construction projects. This role will require a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management abilities to ensure the successful completion of our construction projects. The Superintendent will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of the construction process, from planning to completion, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee all stages of project life cycle, managing construction activities and ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
2. Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure project goals are met.
3. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards.
4. Manage construction schedules and coordinate field activities.
5. Resolve any on-site conflicts or issues, making decisions quickly and effectively.
6. Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns or queries they may have.
7. Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are in place before construction activities commence.
8. Implement and enforce Company's health and safety policies, ensuring that all workers adhere to these guidelines to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
2. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a commercial construction environment, with at least 5 years in a Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent role.
3. Experience leading commercial construction projects of $10 million or greater.
4. Proficient in construction management software, including Autodesk and Bluebeam.
5. Good knowledge of concrete and structural work is a plus.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
7. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to a variety of stakeholders.
9. Must possess a valid, state-issued driver’s license with a good driving record.
10. Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications, and other documents.
11. Demonstrable track record of successfully completing construction projects to the satisfaction of clients and stakeholders.
