Be a part of a dynamic, high-energy team that is shaping the landscape of the construction industry! We are actively seeking a Superintendent who possesses a unique blend of leadership, technical, and communication skills. This role requires a candidate who is comfortable overseeing a variety of construction projects, from heavy earthwork to road construction, and everything in between. The Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring that all construction projects are completed on-time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities:
As a Superintendent, you will:
1. Supervise all phases of construction from initiation to completion, ensuring that projects are completed with quality and within budget.
2. Coordinate and oversee the work of subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce to ensure project milestones are met.
3. Conduct site surveys and layout planning, while managing heavy earthwork, sheeting, shoring, and underground utilities.
4. Oversee the installation of sewer, storm drainage, water, pump stations, and electric systems.
5. Lead road construction projects, including concrete, sidewalks, pavers, and asphalt work.
6. Liaise with municipal bodies and DOT for necessary approvals and inspections.
7. Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
8. Resolve any job site issues such as work delays, emergencies, and schedule changes.
9. Ensure all site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc.
10. Document and communicate daily status reports, manpower counts, and other project information to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry.
2. Proven track record of managing large scale construction projects from start to finish.
3. Extensive knowledge and experience in surveying, layout planning, heavy earthwork, sheeting, shoring, underground utilities, sewer, storm drainage, water, pump stations, electric systems, road construction, concrete, sidewalks, pavers, asphalt, municipal, DOT, and quality control.
4. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
5. Strong understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
6. Exceptional attention to detail with an ability to spot potential risks or delays before they occur.
7. Proficiency in construction software programs.
8. A degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is preferred.
9. Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
