Superintendent

We are a full service, commercial GC and CM firm, based in New York City. Our main focus is commercial/office and data center projects.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Superintendent to join our team. As a Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing commercial construction projects from start to finish. This is a permanent position with excellent growth opportunities for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Management: Lead and manage commercial construction projects, ensuring they are completed within budget, on schedule, and in compliance with all safety regulations.
2. Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction crews, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality workmanship.
3. Planning and Scheduling: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and material procurement, to ensure smooth project execution.
4. Budgeting and Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and implement cost-saving measures to maximize profitability.
5. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all construction work meets industry standards and client specifications, conducting regular inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
6. Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations, promoting a culture of safety among all project stakeholders.
7. Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide project updates and address any concerns or changes.
8. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any project-related challenges or conflicts, utilizing strong analytical and decision-making skills.
9. Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, change orders, and as-built drawings.
10. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies, and implement innovative approaches to enhance project efficiency and quality.

Qualifications:

1. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Superintendent in the commercial construction industry.
2. Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and materials, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex commercial projects.
3. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate construction teams, ensuring high productivity and achievement of project goals.
4. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and resolve conflicts.
5. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure.
6. Organization and Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
7. Safety Consciousness: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to promoting a culture of safety on construction sites.
8. Computer Skills: Proficient in using construction management software, MS Office Suite, and other relevant tools to track project progress, manage budgets, and generate reports.
9. Qualifications: Relevant certifications in construction management or a related field are preferred but not mandatory.
