Job Details
Join our dynamic team as a Supplier Quality Manager in the Food Manufacturing industry. This is a crucial role where you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of raw materials, packaging, and food products from our suppliers. You will be working closely with our vendors and internal teams to maintain the highest standards of food safety.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the quality of raw materials, packaging, and food products from suppliers, ensuring they meet our stringent standards and comply with FDA, USDA, GFSI, BRC regulations.
2. Conduct regular audits of our suppliers, identifying areas of improvement and working with them to rectify any issues.
3. Develop and implement supplier quality management strategies and processes.
4. Work closely with our internal teams, including production, purchasing, and product development, to ensure the quality of our products.
5. Lead investigations into any issues related to supplier quality, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
6. Provide training and guidance to our suppliers on quality standards and expectations.
7. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in food science, food safety, and nutrition, applying this knowledge to improve our supplier quality management processes.
8. Regularly report on supplier quality performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition or a related field is required.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supplier quality management role in the food manufacturing industry.
3. Extensive knowledge of FDA, USDA, GFSI, BRC regulations.
4. Proven experience conducting supplier audits and implementing quality management processes.
5. Strong understanding of food safety and nutrition.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
7. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and rectify quality issues.
8. Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in food science, food safety, and nutrition.
9. Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.
10. Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification is a plus.
11. Up to 20% travel is required
