We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Permanent Surgical Technician to join our dynamic team in the fast-paced medical industry. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the surgical team, providing exceptional patient care by ensuring a safe and sterile surgical environment. This role demands a high level of commitment, expertise, and the ability to thrive under pressure. You will get to work alongside a team of highly skilled professionals, contributing to life-changing procedures and treatments.
Responsibilities
As a Permanent Surgical Technician, your primary duties will include:
1. Assisting the surgical team in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative procedures.
2. Ensuring the surgical room is sterile and safe for patients, with all necessary equipment and materials properly prepared.
3. Anticipating the needs of the surgical team and providing instruments and supplies during operations.
4. Handling specimens collected during surgery according to established protocols.
5. Assisting in patient positioning, skin preparation, and draping procedures.
6. Maintaining surgical equipment and ensuring it is functioning correctly and safely.
7. Monitoring and maintaining the sterile field throughout the operation.
8. Participating in patient care activities, including preoperative patient preparation and postoperative patient education.
9. Adhering to all safety and health standards, as well as infection control protocols.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications:
1. Must hold a current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent.
2. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Scrub Tech or in a similar role.
3. Must have a thorough understanding of surgical procedures and the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
4. Must have excellent manual dexterity and the ability to handle and operate surgical instruments effectively.
5. Must have strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the surgical team.
6. Must have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
7. Must have a commitment to ongoing professional development and the willingness to stay updated on the latest advancements in the field.
8. Must have a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
