We are seeking a motivated Survey Manager, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of land surveying services. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Engineering and Surveying.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

Operational Management of Land Surveying Services:
  • Schedule and coordinate survey crews
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients
  • Prepare proposals and manage billing
  • Collaborate with the engineering department
  • Prepare field notes, stakeout points, and other resources to support field crews
  • Assist with survey equipment, supply, and vehicle maintenance

Survey Data Preparation and Processing:
  • Conduct deed and plat research
  • Draft preliminary documents in advance of field collection
  • Post-process and evaluate field-collected data
  • Perform traverse balancing
  • Rectify and rotate datums as needed
  • Establish stakeout and offset points; prepare cut sheets

Survey Mapping and Documentation:
  • Produce survey maps and plats, including:
  • Boundary surveys
  • Topographic surveys
  • Improvement surveys
  • Metes and bounds descriptions
  • Easement descriptions and exhibits
  • As-built surveys
  • ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
  • Subdivision plats
  • Prepare existing condition files in AutoCAD for design teams

Additional Duties:
  • Conduct field surveying as needed
  • Review and rectify boundaries with licensed surveyors
  • Provide occasional support to engineering design and layout
  • Perform other relevant office or project-related tasks as required

Qualifications:
  • 6–8 years of experience in the land surveying industry preferred; all applicants with relevant experience will be considered
  • Licensure as a Property Line Surveyor or Registered Professional Land Surveyor is not required, but candidates pursuing licensure (including LSIT/CST exams) are encouraged to apply
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant survey software
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams
  • This position is primarily office-based, but occasional field work is expected
