We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a SVP of Sales in the Contract Manufacturing industry. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who is passionate about driving sales, leading teams, and growing businesses. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the CPG, QSR, private label, branded products, sauces, and dressings sector. The role requires a hands-on approach with a strong focus on business development and strategic planning.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
2. Develop and manage sales operating budgets.
3. Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
4. Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and distribution programs.
5. Direct market channel development activity and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
6. Meet with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
7. Review and analyze sales performances against programs, quotes, and plans to determine effectiveness.
8. Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
9. Ensure effective control of marketing results, and take corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
10. Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
11. Monitor competitor products, sales, and marketing activities.
12. Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
13. Direct sales department activities to develop and implement long-term business strategies for the company.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior sales role within the food manufacturing industry, specifically within the CPG, private label, branded products, sauces, and dressings sector.
2. Proven track record of successful business development and sales growth.
3. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team to success.
4. Strong negotiation skills, with a proven ability to close deals and secure partnerships.
5. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization.
6. Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to drive sales and growth.
7. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales performance and market trend information.
8. Proven ability to develop and manage budgets.
9. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable.
10. Proficiency in using various software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
