Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Qualifications Needed:
- Provide tax planning and compliance advice to individuals and business entities
- Handle complex federal, state, and local tax matters
- Draft and review legal opinions and memoranda related to tax issues
- Represent clients in tax disputes and audits
- Advise on tax implications of business transactions, including M&A
- Work with closely held businesses, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals
- Collaborate with partners and clients to craft tailored tax strategies
- Maintain a book of business or grow one over time (encouraged but not required)
Qualifications Needed:
- JD from accredited law school and admission to Oregon Bar (WA a plus)
- LLM in Taxation required
- Minimum 5 years of experience practicing tax law, preferably in a firm setting
- Strong background in federal, state, and local tax matters
- Experience with partnership/corporate taxation and tax controversy
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high-quality legal work
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
