Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Provide expert advice on complex tax controversy matters, including IRS audits and appeals, tax litigation, and strategic tax planning.
- Represent clients in disputes with tax authorities, including negotiation, litigation, and settlement of tax disputes.
- Conduct in-depth research on federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations to provide accurate and up-to-date advice to clients.
- Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liability and risk.
- Prepare and review tax returns and other tax-related documents.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a comprehensive approach to client service and representation.
- Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate these changes to clients and team members.
- Participate in professional development and networking activities to build relationships with clients, tax authorities, and other professionals in the field.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to practice law in the state.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in tax controversy, with a focus on IRS audits and appeals.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical, research, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and understandable manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, tax authorities, and other professionals in the field.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in tax software and other relevant technology.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation would be a plus.
