We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Tax Director to join our dynamic finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned tax professional to play a key role in our tax operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the tax department to deliver quality tax services and enhance our company's reputation. This position offers significant responsibility and interaction with senior management, as well as considerable opportunity to have a large impact within a growing Finance department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the tax department to deliver quality tax services and enhance our company's reputation. This position offers significant responsibility and interaction with senior management, as well as considerable opportunity to have a large impact within a growing Finance department.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the tax department to ensure the efficiency of operations, compliance with tax laws, and the accuracy of tax data.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
- Review all tax returns, tax research projects, year-end tax planning.
- Manage and mentor members of the tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions as required by ASC 740.
- Advise management regarding effects of business activities on taxes, and on strategies for minimizing tax liability.
- Ensure the company maintains the appropriate level of documentation to support our tax position and to meet our SOX requirements.
- Stay abreast of current developments in tax law to be able to appropriately incorporate them into our tax strategy.
- Work with management to identify and mitigate tax risks and to implement tax planning opportunities.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in public accounting.
- Proven work experience as a Tax Director or similar role.
- Comprehensive understanding of federal and state tax laws.
- Experience with tax planning for S Corporations and high net worth individuals.
- In-depth knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance, and all types of tax returns.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- CPA certification is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Master’s degree or JD is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with detail orientation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient with tax software and technology.
