Job Details
- Review and oversee the preparation of individual, trust, estate, and business tax returns.
- Analyze financial documents and estate planning materials to ensure accurate tax reporting.
- Lead tax planning initiatives and research complex tax issues.
- Manage multiple tax engagements and supervise staff accountants and interns.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, assisting with business development efforts.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and tax authorities.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior staff, fostering professional growth.
- Prepare client billings and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Draft internal memoranda and correspondence related to tax matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in tax and accounting, preferably with a focus on trusts and estates.
- Strong technical knowledge and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 5 years of experience in a CPA firm, specializing in trusts, estates, and complex tax returns.
- Familiarity with tax preparation software such as ProSystems or Access.
- Active CPA license.
- Demonstrated commitment to client service and professional excellence.
