Nationally recognized designer & manufacture of highly engineered pressure control equipment is seeking a Tax Manager for their Houston, TX team. The Tax Manager will assist with overall scope of tax compliance and reporting for the company. Works closely with CFO, Tax Director, tax service providers and internal and external auditors to ensure compliance.

Essential Functions, Roles and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

Practice safe work habits and comply with all quality, safety, health and environmental policies, procedures, programs and regulations
Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of the following returns and payments:
Federal and state income tax
Sales and use tax
Franchise tax
Property tax
Assist with the preparation of property tax renditions
Manage tax audits to ensure satisfactory completion
Ensure proper business registrations and nexus are in place
Reconcile sales and use tax account balances monthly, as required
Assist with ensuring accurate and timely preparation of the following:
Federal, state and local returns and calculation of income tax payments
Consolidated tax provision with disclosure required in 10-Q and 10-K
Tax rollforwards and maintenance of current and deferred income tax general ledger accounts
Quarterly/yearly tax projections
Permanent establishment and tax residency analysis
Transfer pricing and analysis
State and federal K1 forms for members, and handling queries related thereto from members’ tax advisers
Tax related information for the Audit Committee
Assist with International tax returns and Partnership returns
Assist with the accounting for the company’s Umbrella Partnership – C-Corp (“UP-C”) structure, including coordinating the calculation of tax-related liabilities (taxes and payments under a tax receivable agreement) with third-party providers
Assist with ongoing reporting and compliance associated with the UP-C structure
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments
Assist with research and prepare technical tax memoranda
Act as liaison for internal and external audits
Assist with general accounting matters as needed
Other duties as assigned

Desired Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited college
5+ years of experience in Federal, State, Local and Franchise taxation
CPA Strongly preferred
Experience with UP-C (Umbrella partnership), ASC 740 and other tax provisions.
Experience preparing partnership and corporate federal and state income tax returns
Experience auditing and preparing quarterly and year-end tax provisions
Experience with U.S. reporting of foreign operations
