Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee all aspects of the company's tax function, including compliance, planning, and strategy.
2. Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liability and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
3. Coordinate and manage tax audits, respond to tax notices, and resolve tax disputes.
4. Collaborate with the accounting team to prepare and review tax returns and ensure accurate reporting of income tax provisions.
5. Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to stay updated on changes that could impact the company.
6. Provide expert tax advice to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external tax advisors and regulatory authorities.
8. Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. A Master’s degree in Taxation or CPA certification is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax experience in the Manufacturing, Construction, Distribution, or M&D industries. Prior experience in a managerial role is a must.
3. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
4. Excellent strategic planning skills with the ability to manage complex tax projects.
5. Superior leadership skills with a proven track record of developing and mentoring teams.
6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly.
8. High proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
9. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
