Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of federal and state income tax compliance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct thorough reviews of income tax returns for S Corps and Corporations.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and state tax returns.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team, and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
- Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections.
- Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
- Maintain and update the company's tax database and prepare necessary reports for tax audits.
- Collaborate with internal and external parties to ensure all tax-related matters are addressed promptly and accurately.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role.
- Extensive understanding of tax law and federal and state tax compliance.
- Proven experience with income tax, S Corps, and Corporations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
