We are currently seeking a Medical Office Coordinator to join our team on a full-time temporary/contract basis. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our medical office, serving as a key liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, patient referrals, and authorization processes.
Responsibilities:
1. Coordinating and managing patient referrals and authorizations, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for patients and healthcare providers.
2. Utilizing your knowledge of ICD-10 coding to accurately record diagnoses and treatments.
3. Facilitating communication between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies, addressing any concerns or queries promptly and professionally.
4. Maintaining up-to-date patient records, ensuring all data is accurate and confidential.
5. Utilizing your language skills to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population, providing support and information as needed.
6. Assisting with various administrative tasks as required, such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining office supplies.
7. Ensuring all office procedures and policies are adhered to, maintaining a high standard of patient care and service at all times.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within the medical industry.
2. A solid understanding of medical terminology and ICD-10 coding is preferred
3. Experience in managing patient referrals and authorizations.
4. Fluency in Spanish, Arabic, or Mandarin is a definite plus
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
7. A high level of attention to detail, ensuring all patient records are accurate and up-to-date.
8. Proficiency with various Computer/Office skills (scanning, spreadsheets, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. A commitment to providing a high standard of patient care and service.
