Position Overview
We are seeking an Inside Sales / Estimator to support mechanical contractors by pricing, quoting, and coordinating custom HVAC ductwork and sheet‑metal fabrication. This role sits at the center of operations, sales, and production—working closely with contractors, project teams, and internal fabrication leadership in a union manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate understands how commercial HVAC projects actually move, can read drawings, build accurate estimates, and communicate clearly with customers under tight timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate estimates and quotes for commercial HVAC ductwork and fabricated sheet‑metal components
Review drawings, specs, and takeoffs to scope labor, material, and fabrication requirements
Serve as a primary point of contact for mechanical contractors, responding to bid requests, revisions, and value‑engineering questions
Coordinate with production and operations to confirm lead times, capacity, and delivery schedules
Manage quote revisions related to design changes, addenda, and scope adjustments
Support project handoff from estimate to fabrication, ensuring clarity and accuracy
Track open bids, awarded work, and change requests
Maintain professionalism and responsiveness in a fast‑paced, deadline-driven environment
Work effectively within a union shop structure, respecting labor rules and production realities
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in HVAC sheet metal estimating, inside sales, or fabrication support
Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and ductwork
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Experience working with mechanical contractors preferred
High attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills
Comfortable working cross‑functionally with production, engineering, and sales
Experience in a union manufacturing or construction environment is a strong plus
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office tools
