We are seeking a motivated and experienced Permanent Tool and Die Technician (Plastic Extrusion) to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to our manufacturing process and will involve working with a variety of tools and dies used in the plastic extrusion process. The successful candidate will have a strong background in plastic or rubber products, process engineering, and injection molding. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a competitive compensation package and an opportunity for career growth.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the setup and operation of various types of plastic extrusion equipment.
2. Perform routine inspections to ensure tools and dies are functioning correctly and efficiently.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve tool and die issues that may arise during the manufacturing process.
4. Collaborate with the production team to ensure tools and dies are ready for use and meet production requirements.
5. Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs for tools and dies.
6. Assist in the design and development of new tools and dies to improve production efficiency.
7. Maintain accurate records of tool and die usage, maintenance, and inventory.
8. Adhere to all safety rules and regulations in the handling and operation of tools and dies.
9. Provide technical support and training to other team members as required.
10. Continuously evaluate and improve tool and die processes to enhance product quality and maximize production output.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tool and die technician role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
2. Extensive knowledge of plastic or rubber products, process engineering, and injection molding.
3. Proficient in the use of various types of tools and dies used in plastic extrusion.
4. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve tool and die issues.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
6. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
8. High attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
9. Demonstrated ability to adhere to safety rules and regulations.
10. Relevant certifications or training in tool and die technology would be an asset.
