Are you a skilled craftsman with a knack for precision and a keen eye for detail? We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our dynamic team. This role is suited for a hardworking, innovative individual who is passionate about the manufacturing industry. As a Tool & Die Maker, you will perform a critical role in our production process, crafting and modifying specific tools and dies according to precise specifications. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment, where every day brings new challenges and the chance to work on a variety of projects.
Responsibilities:
As a skilled Tool & Die Maker, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Analyzing and interpreting complex blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
2. Setting up and operating conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools to cut, drill, mill, or grind parts to the required specifications.
3. Fitting and assembling parts to create or repair dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures.
4. Inspecting finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects, using measuring instruments such as surface plates, micrometers, and gauges.
5. Conducting test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure parts meet specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
6. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
7. Collaborating with other team members and departments to optimize production processes.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Tool & Die Maker position should possess the following:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in tool and die making or a related field.
2. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and specifications.
3. Extensive experience in metalworking, including cutting, drilling, milling, and grinding.
4. Strong knowledge of the properties and characteristics of metals used for cutting tools and dies.
5. Ability to use precision measuring instruments and equipment.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an apprenticeship or vocational training in tool and die technology is highly desirable.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
10. Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and work on your feet for extended periods.
