As a Permanent Tool Maker, you will join our dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing team. This role is vital to ensuring the highest levels of precision and quality in our products. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and repairing the tools and fixtures used in the manufacturing process, ensuring that they meet the strictest standards of accuracy and reliability. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from creating custom tools to solving complex manufacturing challenges. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical aptitude and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and models to understand the specifications of tools and fixtures.
  • Operate and maintain CNC machines, mills, lathes, and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Utilize G-Code and other programming languages to create and modify CNC programs.
  • Apply knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure precise measurements and alignments.
  • Create and test prototypes to ensure tools and fixtures meet design specifications.
  • Perform routine tool maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Fabricate jigs, parts, and tooling for use in the manufacturing process.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve manufacturing processes and tool designs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve tool-related issues that arise during the manufacturing process.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tool Maker or in a similar role in the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in G-Code, CNC machine operation, and precision measurement.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T principles.
  • Exceptional mechanical skills, with the ability to maintain and repair a variety of manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and models.
  • Experience with tool maintenance and fabrication of jigs, parts, and tooling.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to create and test prototypes and fixtures.
  • Experience operating mills, lathes, and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve tool-related issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and other team members.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in a relevant field is a plus.
