In this role you will supervise, coordinate, and support Tool Room activities in a strategic, cost-effective, and timely manner, aligned with the goals of Metal Fabrication, Construction, and Service divisions within a Lean and continuous improvement-driven culture.

Position Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, internal customers, and co-workers.
- Manage tools, safety equipment, rentals, commodities, and inventories in the Tool Room.
- Administer and monitor preventative, corrective, and inspection maintenance for tool room equipment, maintaining accurate records of repairs, replacements, and warranty items.
- Oversee the day-to-day resolution of tool request needs.
- Manage ongoing tool and equipment purchases and obtain quotations for capital tool requests.
- Maintain accurate tool lists and equipment in databases.
- Track tools and ensure accurate charge-outs to jobs.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of tools and consumables.
- Leverage manufacturer and vendor rebates, credits, and other programs.
- Participate in the Tool Room annual budget process and manage costs within budget guidelines.
- Optimize systems and reports to best serve customers.
- Partner with the Safety Department to oversee all safety equipment housed within the tool room, ensuring required inspections are completed and documented.
- Train, develop, and manage the performance of direct reports; provide prompt and objective coaching and coordinate, plan, and assign work to staff.
- Create and maintain SOPs and work instructions for key Tool Room functions.
- Support and maintain a safe and Lean work environment.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Summary of Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Relevant work experience preferred.
- Experience in directing skilled, semi-skilled, and non-skilled trade personnel
- Self-motivated, strong personal accountability, and even-tempered.
- Ability to thrive in a Lean and continuous improvement-driven environment.
- Good computer skills using Microsoft suite and Viewpoint.
- Ability to write reports and business communications.
