Job Details
Duties:
- Responsible for overseeing a team of around 10 other tool Makers
- Machines parts to specifications, using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and
- Set-ups, adjusts and operates basic machine tools as well as specialized, advanced tools to perform
- Using precision instruments (e.g., micrometers), measures, examines, and tests completed units to
- Sets controls to regulate machining; enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine
- Uses knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining
- Calculates dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and
- Aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto
- Selects the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work
