Job Details

Responsibilities include:

Assist in planning and design of transmission assets and schedule operations work on MEC solely owned transmission.
Supervise the MPUA Line Crew Leader in the performance of their duties be it MEC or member cities T & D systems.
Interpret and apply common codes and standards including the NESC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, ANSI, FERC, NERC, etc.
Maintain transmission equipment, monitor incoming feeds and outgoing transmissions, manage staff, and quickly troubleshoot any problems that may arise.
Study existing power transmission systems to determine how they can best be expanded, and test power lines and equipment to determine how they perform under specific conditions.
Review any environmental issues, potential safety hazards, logistical problems to ensure maximum efficiency from the finished product.
