Job Details:

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Truck Mechanic for a permanent position in our dynamic team. This role is crucial to ensure the smooth running of our fleet and requires a professional with a strong understanding of all facets of truck repair and maintenance. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance tasks, diagnosing mechanical issues, and performing repairs on our fleet of trucks. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with tanker trucks.

Responsibilities:

• Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles.
• Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
• Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade.
• Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts, etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity.
• Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g., leaks).
• Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
• Liaise with drivers to correctly identify mechanical problems.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in truck mechanics through continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a truck mechanic with a minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably with tanker trucks.
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of trucks.
• Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
• Ability to handle various tools (e.g., pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g., lift).
• Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals, etc.
• Excellent physical condition.
• High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred.
• Valid certification (e.g., ASE) is a definite plus.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings when required.
