Job Details
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Draft a wide range of trust and estate litigation documents, including complaints, answers, motions, mediation briefs, and trial briefs
- Prepare pre-trial and trial materials, such as exhibit lists, witness lists, trial binders, and exhibit binders
- Manage litigation calendars, ensuring all deadlines are accurately calculated and tracked
- Handle court filings and service of process, including e-filing across various California courts
- Draft and respond to written discovery
- Conduct legal research, including case law, California Rules of Court, and local rules
- Review and summarize complex records, including financial, medical, and business documents
- Analyze deposition transcripts and identify key excerpts for use in trial or mediation
- Communicate with witnesses and coordinate witness preparation
- Liaise with opposing counsel to schedule depositions, mediations, and case-related meetings
- Coordinate deposition logistics, including court reporting services
- Research title history and legal ownership of property as it relates to trust assets
- Support attorneys with overall case management and progression
- Diligently track billable and non-billable time in accordance with firm policies
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3+ years of litigation experience as a paralegal required
- Must possess ABA-approved paralegal certificate with current CLE units completed
- Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
