Job Details
We’re looking for an experienced trusts and estates attorney to join our nationally recognized Private Client team in New York. If you have at least 4 years of experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families on sophisticated estate planning and administration matters, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your practice with a collaborative, top-tier team.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and fiduciaries on estate planning, tax planning, and wealth transfer strategies.
Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and gifting instruments tailored to clients’ specific needs.
Handle complex estate and trust administration, including federal and state tax filings and coordination with fiduciaries and beneficiaries.
Provide guidance on lifetime giving strategies, charitable planning, and retirement asset planning.
Support clients in succession planning for closely held businesses and advise on tax-efficient structures for transferring family wealth.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues across corporate, tax, employment, and real estate teams to deliver holistic client solutions.
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum of 4 years of trusts and estates experience with a focus on high-net-worth planning and administration.
Strong knowledge of federal and New York state estate and gift tax laws.
Experience with complex estate planning, charitable giving, business succession, and retirement planning is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a client-first mindset.
Strong technical, organizational, and professional skills with sharp attention to detail.
Proactive, team-oriented approach with a drive to develop creative, effective solutions.
Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing (required).
